This Week’s Preset: Mobius – Fast Volume Swells

Preset - Mobius
This preset showcases the Mobius Autoswell machine with a very fast Rise Time. By running a distortion box after the swell, an effect similar to using your guitar’s volume knob into a cranked amp is achieved.

With a quick Rise Time of .08 (80ms), the Autoswell’s responsiveness lets you get this effect at a rate that would normally leave your pinky finger begging for mercy. The LOG shape parameter is used to accentuate the separation between the swells.

The Depth knob is set to zero to allow for swells without any added modulation. (Given that, it doesn’t matter where the Speed knob is set). Some reverb is added (thank you Flint) for a bit of ambience.

Clips starts off with Mobius bypassed, and is engaged at 0:02. Distortion is provided by a ’70s era MXR Distortion+, running after Mobius.
